GEC De61 refrigerator for sale. Dating from the late 1950’s, this British fridge ... therefore it operates on 220v, which should not be an issue, or could easily be converted to US voltage.
It is a great example of classic ‘50’s design and is in pretty good overall shape and works perfectly. This item was purchased in London and was used constantly for over 25 years, never once had an issue, it has proved to be utterly reliable, I think it still has the original light bulb! ... since moving to Florida it has been stored unused in our garage.
The only real signs of wear and age are on the inside door storage areas, a few cracks to the shelving, and few dings to the exterior paint ... very minor issues really. The wonderful heavy chrome door handle (which looks as if it belongs on a 1950’s car) has a few very minor spots, but again operates perfectly.
This refrigerator would make a great addition to a mid-century kitchen ... as it did in London.
This particular GEC model was available in a variety of colorways, and could be customised during purchase ... this example is white with a red door handle inset, these were also available in Mint Green, Gold, Black and Blue. The interior is cream with Gold trim ... very retro.
The price $650 is fixed, and the refrigerator would need to be collected from St. Petersburg Fl.
