More Information

This beautiful oak cabinet was originally built to be an icebox. The electric refrigeration system was most likely installed in the early 1930's.It was quite common for companies like Frigidaire to provide an electric refrigeration system to icebox owners, then remove the icebox manufacturers tag and replace it with theirs. The motor is still intact and housed in the base of the unit. Presently, it is not operational.

If it was restored and therefore operational, this would be the conversation piece of any Fan Cave, Kitchen, Bar, Enclosed Porch or Patio. As is, this would be perfect for storage of glassware, knickknacks, serving dishes and more!

How the unit was originally used: A large block of ice would have been placed in the center, upper section and the cold air would flow in and around the other compartments to chill the food.

Unit is on wheels.
